The team at Warner Fences Canterbury worked with Higgins Construction to provide pedestrian management solutions at 3 busy intersections along Bealey Ave in central Christchurch. The traffic light crossings at the Bealey Ave and Colombo Street, Durham Street North and Montreal Street intersections all required fencing to encourage pedestrians to use the traffic lights to cross the road safely. The fencing itself was relatively simple but the busy location meant installation had to be well planned to ensure it went smoothly and safely for all involved. The installation had to be completed at specific times to cause the least possible disruption to the traffic and some lanes were closed. Warner's Canterbury worked closely with Higgins and Traffic Management to accommodate these factors. The Sherwood II profile was chosen at 1 metre high with 40mm square posts in powdercoat colour black. The fencing provides practical safety while still looking great and tying in with the surroundinglandscape.
