David worked with both the Resource and Facilities Managers from St Paul's, as well as with Marie Robinson from Spotless Client Facilities Services. The fencing was required to stop two neighbouring football fields being used as a thoroughfare so the ideal fence height and positioning of the central horizontal bars had to be determined. The fence needed to be as difficult to climb as possible while not detracting from the strength of the vertical bars. These specific requirements made for an exhaustive selection process which resulted in Warner's Futura panels being chosen in the Oxley III profile. These were extremely appealing to the school as individual vertical rails could be replaced if required, St Paul's previous experience with other fencing had entire panels being replaced when only a small part of it was actually damaged - an unnecessary expense and inconvenience. The job presented a few significant challenges; some of the boundary was undulating and so the fence line had to be excavated in places to allow for this as well as the fencing being stepped in some places. The wet Winter weather was also an obstacle, the rain caused the boundary lines to be waterlogged making installation impossible on a number of days. For one 120 metre section of the fencing, panels had to be manufactured to fit between 11 brick pillars which had it yet been built. This left absolutely no room for error in the panel dimensions. Despite these challenges, David and his experienced team delivered the completed project to the highest standard and the schools and all involved were thrilled with the end result and the service provided.
“We were very happy with David and his team’s service. Nothing was a problem from design to installation. David supplied us with a prototype very quickly and was happy for us to put it through some quality tests to ensure that we had the strongest option."Marie Robinson
